Since 1995 Hilary has been a tutor at the St.Ives School of Painting, where she mainly teaches drawing, printmaking, water-colour courses and life classes.

As a tutor for the Field Studies Council she has run art courses at FSC Centres around the U.K since 1999, including Blencathra in Cumbria, Malham Tarn in Yorkshire and Slapton Ley in Devon.

Since 1995, she has worked as a freelance tour guide at Tate Gallery St.Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum, giving regular tours, talks and practical workshops to school, college and adult groups and continues there as a practitioner and approved supplier.

She graduated from Saint Martin's School of Art, London, in 1979 with a first Class BA Honours, Degree in Graphic Design specialising in Illustration.

Hilary then took a post-graduate Art Teacher's Certificate in 1980 at Sussex University, moving from Essex - where she was born and brought up - to Brighton until moving to Cornwall in 1994. She now lives in Hayle where she has her studio.

Whilst in Brighton Hilary studied printmaking extensively over many years, learning the techniques of lithography, silk screen and etching. This led to a Certificate in Printmaking with distinction (1994 University of Brighton). Hilary has been a Member of the Cornwall Crafts Association since 1995.

She has an MA in the History of Modern Art & Design (UCF 1994-1997) and an MA in Illustration: Authorial Practice (UCF 2008-2010), and has recently self-published a book about Godolphin N.T near Helston, which she wrote and illustrated as part of the MA.

Whilst Hilary will continue to self-publish with her  own 'redrawing history' publications, she would also welcome illustration commissions.

Hilary's work has been included twice at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and as an Associate Member of the Federation of British Artists, National Society of Painters, Printmakers & Sculptors at the Mall Galleries.
